The SynMat 7 offers comfort, light weight and compact packed size. Great value for money since the synthetic filling is cheaper than down. The warmth to weight ratio of the SynMat is superior when compared to regular mats. The synthetic filling is laminated to both the top and bottom of the fabric, which eliminates the loss of loft common to synthetic filled sleeping bags.
- Two wide valves ensure fast inflation and simple deflation. Just one quarter turn closes the valve. High quality molded valves reduce weight and never feel cold to touch.
- Similar to a sleeping bag, baffles between the mats‘ chambers eliminate cold spots and promote a stable and supportive air cushion.
- Laminated polyester fabric is both durable and airtight. Top surface of honeycomb textured fabric provides superior slip resistance and comfort next to the skin. Seams and valves are all high frequency welded to ensure mat integrity.
- For use with a pillow, 2 loops at head end can be used to secure the packsack to the mat.
- Light and warm: The Synmat 7 Pump has a heat resistance value of 4.9. At about the same weight a standard 2.5 cm self inflating mat only offers a R-value of 2.5. EMPA tests demonstrated that regular mats lose 3x more heat to cold ground than to the air. The conclusion is that a warmer mat is more important than a warmer sleeping bag.
- Included: fabric patches and textile glue.

The built-in pump inflates the mat quickly: This prevents humidity from reaching the filling, which could otherwise freeze. Follow three simple steps: Close both valves at the top of the mat, then open the pumps valve. Use both hands to pump. One hand covers the valve opening and doubles as a cap. Close the pump valve cap when done. It only takes one minute to comfortably pump up the mat.
The synthetic microfiber in the baffles is durably laminated to the top and bottom of the mat. This prevents the filling from loosing loft and isulating properties over time, as is common in synthetic filled sleeping bags.
